We only have one mother Earth. She is the only place that we can live on. Once it is destroyed, it can never be replaced. Our planet is surrounded by a blanket of gases which keeps the Earth warm and allows it to sustain life. When carbon dioxide is released, it forms a thicker blanket around Earth, which is very unhealthy. Therefore, our climate is starting to change. Climatic changes are occurring on Earth all the time.
The causes of climatic changes are man-made activities. We chop down trees to make land space for agriculture. We release carbon into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal for energy, heat or transport. In an urban environment, we use electrical energy for almost everything. Television, computers and the electrical appliances, all of them requires electrical energy and majority of the population on Earth uses them everyday. When most carbon dioxide is being released? It is during air travel, driving and heating which we use at home. The effect of climatic changes can lead to natural disasters. We may be experiencing floods as when the ice mountains or ice bergs in the ocean starts to melt, it melts into liquid and Earth might not have enough space to hold that much water. Therefore, the water will start to come into land and we might be submerged under water one day. Other effects of climatic changes are diseases, bad harvest, and water shortage. It will be serious implications for ecosystems, growing seasons, animals and their habitats. And we will also experience more intense and frequent extreme weather events. We can help influence the future in a better way by using less energy, electrical energy. Such as, taking public transportation, turning off electrical appliances when not in use and buying environmental friendly products. 305words. exceed by five! |
